Brothers young forward Jack Daniels is looking to finish off a breakout year in style. Jack started the year in the Northern Pride Mal Meninga cup squad. Despite not making an appearance at State Level, Jacks efforts at club level have not gone unnoticed.
Last month his dream season continued, scoring 4 tries against Mareeba (talking his tally to 12 for the season) and earning a call up to reserve grade.
Jacks sharp running game from dummy half and strong carries at lock have a been a feature of Brothers u19s brilliant season so far and the 17-year-old is keen to cap 2025 with finals success – he said “Brothers is a great club, this is my 6th year – I am really enjoying my footy this season and can’t wait to rip in to the finals series. Steve the 19s coach has put faith in me as a leader and hopefully I am repaying his belief in me – the club is going really well, and I am proud to be part of it- we really want to top the year off with a premiership – its going to be tough but we believe we have the ability get over the line”
Head of football Tim Rumford commented “ Jack is another one of our club juniors who is making great progress – his work ethic is second to none and he has bags of potential – he didn’t look out of place when he stepped up to reserve grade making a couple of clean breaks and some solid tackles- Jack and couple of 19s are training regularly with A Grade, so the opportunity is there for them to take the next step when the coaching team feel they are ready – Steven Lesina (19s coach ) & Bobby Benioni ( assistant) have done a great job with the boys this year and we are seeing these lads starting to fulfil their potential“
Jack an the under 19s can secure the Minor premiership, should they overcome rivals Kangaroos this Sunday at Stan Williams Park – kick off 12noon!
