Brothers Cairns’ First Home Game on Home Soil in Over Twenty Months
Congratulations to all of those who played at our first home game on Sunday 29th June, and thank you to all of those who showed their support and attended Stan Williams Park.
The transformation of Stan Williams Park, Stage One, is finally complete. This project has been generously funded by Brothers Cairns, a $12 million vision which will revitalise the park into a vibrant, multi-purpose precinct designed to enrich lives and strengthen community connections across the Cairns region.
Originally unveiled in 2022, the redevelopment plans reflected a shared commitment between Brothers Cairns, local leaders, and stakeholders to honour the legacy of Stan Williams—a local rugby league pioneer—and deliver a space that fosters sporting excellence, cultural celebration, and youth engagement. Once completed, the project will feature upgraded playing fields, modern amenities, community gathering spaces, and enhanced accessibility, transforming the park into a state-of-the-art facility for both sport and recreation.
With backing from the Queensland Government already secured, the additional $6 million from the LNP will mark Stage Two; another pivotal step in turning this long-held community vision into reality. Brothers Cairns continues to champion this initiative, recognising the profound social and economic impact such a project will bring to Manunda and the wider Far North Queensland region
