Lifetime Brothers Cairns player Tom Spark will make his Queensland cup debut for the Northern Pride as they face Brisbane Tigers in Brisbane this Saturday at 5pm.
Spark has represented the Brothers Cairns club since he was 6 years old and was nominated by the Club for a train and trial with the state cup team this year .
Brothers Head of football , Tim Rumford said ” When Russ Aitken (Northern pride coach) was asking for train and trial nominations- myself and Jordan, our A Grade captain-coach were in total agreement that Tom deserved this opportunity.
He’s been a cornerstone of our pack during the most successful period in the clubs history – at hooker and more recently lock – he’s a tough, honest player and we are extremely proud to see another Brothers Junior graduate to State level – Tom has shown continuous improvement and that’s credit to both Jordan and our coaching team, Aswell as to Tom and his attitude towards his game”
Spark has featured for Brothers in 7 games so far this season – putting in some eye-catching performances with this direct running game and stinging defence, adding bite to Brothers formidable forward pack. Another fine performance last week in the Win against in-form Suburbs was capped with a try !
Everyone at Brothers wishes Tom a great Queensland cup debut , do your thing Sparksy !
