Records tumbled on Saturday as Brothers Cairns RLFC claimed FOUR premierships! The clubs under 15s, under 19s, Reserve Grade and A Grade teams were all victorious and crowned 2025 champions after a thrilling day of finals action.
Brothers u16s were defeated in their grand final – a slow start ultimately costing them, before a valiant second half fightback which rounded off a very respectable season for the team.

Head of football Tim Rumford explained “it’s been an outstanding year for the club – we had the u13s girls take home the premiership a couple of weeks ago – and now the 4 grades all coming away with silverware. Everyone at the club is very proud – our coaching team and staff have worked so hard and it’s great the see them rewarded.”

In a historic day for the club – the u15s coached by Jason “Thrasher ” Daniels got us on the board with a solid win, then Brothers Cairns took out all 3 senior grade premierships. U19s coached by Steven Lesina, assisted by Bobby Benioni were too strong for Kangaroos, whilst Luke Fleming- Reserve Grade Captain Coach, led his team to a comprehensive victory over Kangaroos. The season was capped off with Brothers Cairns A Grade – lifting the premiership shield for a record breaking FOURTH consecutive time. Jordan Biondi-Odo, A Grade Captain Coach, and the team cemented themselves as the most dominant team in FNQRL history after an 18 – 12 success over a plucky Suburbs team on Saturday.

Rumford added – “we are immensely proud as a club. The A Grade achievement of four straight premierships is absolutely phenomenal- underpinned by the u19s and Reserve grades taking out their grand final – it’s a great indicator that our systems are working and that we have talented players and coaches thriving in our club environment”

Congratulations to everyone involved at the club – players, volunteers, committee and staff, on a remarkable and historic season.

Here’s to 2026 – the clubs centenary year!
