Robert Derby has played Junior Rugby League for Cairns Brothers with several appearances for the Senior Club and made his A-Grade debut in 2019 as a 17-year-old.
He will wear a Cowboys jersey for the first time in a game when the NRL club takes on NRL newcomers the Dolphins at Barlow Park next month.
Robert is trialling for the NQ Cowboys and will play for the Cowboys in their trial match against the new NRL Club Redcliffe at Barlow Park on Sunday 12th February.
In 2022, Robert trained with the Cowboys then made ten appearances for Northern Pride and represented PNG mid-season against Fiji in a Pacific Test match.
