Brothers Cairns A Grade has made history in our centenary year, securing a fifth consecutive FNQRL premiership with a 48–20 Grand Final win.

A Grade seals a historic five-peat in our centenary year

One hundred years of Brothers Cairns Rugby League and another piece of history for the Blue & White.

Brothers Cairns A Grade capped off a remarkable 2026 season with a commanding 48–20 Grand Final victory over Southern Suburbs at Barlow Park, securing an extraordinary fifth consecutive FNQRL premiership.

It’s a fitting achievement in a milestone year for the Club. Established in 1926, Brothers Cairns RLFC celebrates its centenary in 2026: 100 years of players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters building the legacy we continue today.

Five in a row

Last season, A Grade made history by securing a record-breaking fourth consecutive premiership. In 2026, Jordan Biondi-Odo and the squad went one better.

The fifth straight title continues a premiership run that began in 2022 and represents an extraordinary level of consistency at the top of Far North Queensland rugby league.

But success like this isn’t built by one team or in one season.

As Head of Rugby League David Scott said:

“Five grades in five deciders is the kind of result that comes from a healthy, well-run pathway.”

That was on full display at Barlow Park, with Under 13s, 15s, 17s, 19s and A Grade all earning their place in an FNQRL Grand Final 5 September.

While the results didn’t go our way in the four junior and pathway deciders, reaching five Grand Finals across age groups from Under 13 through to A Grade is an achievement the entire Club can be proud of.

Every one of our teams earned their place through a full season of hard work, and the experience gained on Grand Final Day will become part of the next generation of Brothers players coming through the ranks.

Another premiership

And the 2026 silverware wasn’t limited to A Grade.

Earlier in the finals campaign, our Under 15 Girls were crowned FNQRL premiers, defeating Southern Suburbs 22–14 at Barlow Park.

It’s another exciting milestone for our female rugby league pathway. In 2025, the Under 13 Girls became the first female Brothers Cairns team to win a premiership — and one year later, our U15 Girls have added another title to the story.

100 years of Brothers

Achieving all of this in our centenary year feels fitting — celebrating 100 years of legacy while writing the next chapter.

From the Cairns Past Brothers Rugby League Club formed in 1926 to the players pulling on the butcher’s stripes today, generations of people have contributed to what Brothers Cairns has become.

Five teams reaching Grand Finals.
An Under 15 Girls premiership.
And an A Grade side making history with five consecutive titles.

What a way to mark 100 years

To every player, coach, manager, volunteer, family member and supporter who contributed throughout the season, thank you.

And congratulations to Jordan Biondi-Odo, the A Grade squad and everyone behind the program on an achievement that will now sit proudly in Brothers’ history.

100 years strong. Five in a row.
