Brothers Cairns RLFC are delighted to confirm that Brothers under 16s Player Harmon Benioni will join the NRL North Queensland cowboys on a 2-year elite emerging contract.

Harmon began his journey as a Brothers junior in the clubs u7s and has worked his way through the grades over the past decade. Most recently he has excelled under the coaching of former A Grade star Corey Child.

Having being in the Cowboys Greenhorns program in 2024 and the Bucks in 2025 along with representing the peninsula schools U15s and Queensland Cook Islands R.L. in 2022, Harmon will now make the step up to the elite emerging squad at the Cowboys and he knows the hard work starts here:

“I am really looking forward to the challenge & being around some of the best young players in the game. It’s exciting, it’s going to need hard work and dedication but I feel I am ready to take the next step “ said Harmon.

Head of coaching Tim Rumford added, “ Harmon has been a stand- out player in our junior club for a number of years , this contract is a reward for his consistent improvement and his attitude. He has a great support network, his Father Bobby is a Brothers legend and former premiership winner and Harmon’s siblings are in the Cowboys system – so he knows what it takes. As always, at Brothers we are extremely proud when one of our young players earns a place in an elite pathway with an NRL club, it’s a fantastic reflection of the hard work that goes in behind the scenes from our coaches and volunteers’.

Proud Dad Bobby commented “Brothers have been awesome for the kids development and the standards upheld at the club will make Harmon better prepared for this step up – I’d like to thank everyone at Brothers for their support, it’s a great club and we love being a part of it – as a family we are excited to see what the future brings for Harmon at the Cowboys “.
