Brothers Leagues Club Cairns has once again beat the fiercest of competition to come out trumps as a winner of two prestigious awards at the Club's Queensland Awards on the weekend. Scoring the ‘Best Club FNQ' accolade at the event against fellow finalist Mossman Bowls Club, this means this is now the 11th time Brothers has taken home the title. Not only that, but its sister property, Fuller Sports Club also had a win with team member Andy Grega taking the accolade for ‘Best Keno Co-ordinator in QLD'.
More than 1700 people attended the awards, which were held at the Brisbane Convention Centre last Saturday night. Brothers Leagues Club general manager Mono Gomez said winning ‘Best Club FNQ' was a team effort. "It's great to receive this award again," he said. "It is obviously a reflection of the high quality of services and facilities provided, and the dedication of the team at Brothers."
Brothers Leagues Club is a not-for-profit community club that offers a wide range of entertainment, recreational activities and gaming to its members. Aside from donating tens of thousands of dollars to local charities every year, it is also one of the most recognised entertainment venues in the region, providing free live entertainment weekly for members and supporting ticketed touring acts. Brothers provides a selection of gaming opportunities, as well as specialised interest events for members. Its restaurants and bars are open daily and new members are always welcome.
Fuller Sports Club (Andy Grega) - Best Keno Co-ordinator QLD
This year is the first time Brothers' sister property Fuller Sports Club has garnered an award, and its gone straight to the top, taking out both the FNQ segment and the QLD award. Team member Andy Grega's win of the ‘Best Keno Co-ordinator' for Queensland was a coup for the club. Fuller Sports Club manager Michael Burgess said Andy always went above and beyond the call of duty in his job. "His dedication to providing outstanding Keno facilities to the members and guests at Fuller Sports Club is commendable," he said. "We are all proud of Andy's achievement."
